Together with its clients, Royal BAM Group wants to aim at COâ‚‚-conscious and in the longer term climate-neutral tendering. Through energy-efficient products and processes, Royal BAM Group will aim to contribute to the reduction of COâ‚‚ emissions in the construction chain. The construction world realises a wide range of products. At the earliest possible stage of a project, Royal BAM Group wants to consult with its clients about where reduction can be achieved. That is where the field of tension between costs and the degree of reduction can be found. The share of the construction sector in COâ‚‚ emissions is normally underestimated. The costs of sustainable building are on the other hand overestimated.

Central government
The role of the central government in the reduction of COâ‚‚ emissions is twofold. On the one hand, the government should set an example at the national, regional and municipal level. In part influenced by its own employees, but certainly also by the expectations of its citizens, it will be inclined to place increasingly higher demands. This results in a process of ever more stringent legislation and regulations. On the other hand, the government is also part of the chain as a customer. In this role its task is to spend its money as effectively as possible.

Business sector
Furthermore, the business sector must also set an example and take its social responsibility. The business sector is aware of the fact that the costs of COâ‚‚ reduction measures will rise exponentially if suitable measures are postponed. However, the sector also sees opportunities and the arising of global joint ventures in which the participants commit to reducing COâ‚‚ emissions. They are also calling upon their clients to aim for the same objective.
